Interested in umpiring but unsure of what to do? We can solve that! Between RNLL and District 9, we offer as much as 45 hours of training to get you all set for the start of the season. Here’s how to choose which sessions to attend:
- If you're new to umpiring, make every effort to go to the following set:
- RNLL/RWLL classroom parts 1-3
- RNLL/RWLL field training
- D9 Umpire 101
- If you’re a returning umpire, you should go to:
- Either the D9 201 series or the RNLL/RWLL classroom series (or both, if you like)
- Either the D9 field training or the RNLL/RWLL field training (or both, if you like)
- If you’re a veteran, you should go attend these:
- D9 201 series
- D9 field training
- If you’d like to work some 90’ games, check out the D9 301 class!
Note that all sessions are unique, so feel free to go to as much as you want to.
Classroom Training Sessions
Classroom training takes place from 6-9PM on the specified dates at the Lake Washington Resource Center (16250 NE 74th St), or the First Baptist Church (16700 NE 95th St). Check the board when you arrive to be sure you go to the right room. Field Training takes place at Hartman Park, field 6 (rain or shine).

Field Training Sessions
If you can’t make the Sunday AM RNLL/RWLL session,
the rest will still be worthwhile.
If you don’t go to the D9 field sessions, come to the RNLL Jamboree and get some practice innings under your belt—just walk up to any game!
