11 Year Old Results Saturday′s 11 year old District 9 tournament game matched the two remaining undefeated teams Snoqualmie Valley and Redmond North. Redmond North however was unable to get on track. SV pitchers and defense held RN to only 2 runs on 6 hits. SV got on the board in the first inning after the first two batters reached base on walks. SV′s number three hitter delivered on a RBI ground ball fielder′s choice and there number four hitter singles up the middle for their second run of the inning. SV was retired in order in the second. It was SV′s half of the third inning that would prove to be the difference in the game. SV lead off batter reached first on an error the next batter was given a pass on balls. The next two batters singled and before Redmond knew it they were down 6 to 0 going into the top of the 4th. Redmond struggled to get anything going offensively until the 4th inning when Zach Abbruzza singled to start the inning off. Andrew Donaldson hit a hard ground ball into the hole on the left side of the infield but SV′s shortstop was able to make a nice play to his right and get the force out at second. Billy Del Toro walked and Chris George was hit by a pitch, bases now loaded with only one out and Jacob Hegge at the plate. Jacob hit a ground ball in the hole at short to score Redmond′s first run. However, SV′s shortstop turned in a fine play to get the force out at third. Redmond′s inning ended with a ground ball to first. SV added three more runs in their half of the 4th inning. Redmond scored their last run of the game in the 5th with a lead off single by Michael Hill who then stole second. Drew Dow delivered a drag bunt down the third base for a base hit. With a runner in scoring position Zack Wile hit a RBI line drive to center field to score Redmond′s second and final run of the game. Unfortunately Redmond went down in order to end the inning with two pop ups and a strike out. Final score of 9 to 3. Abbruzza started and threw three innings, Erik Heeter threw 2/3 on an inning and Michael Hill threw 1-1/3 innings.

Sunday′s loser out game would pit Redmond North with the Bellevue Thunderbirds. Redmond would call on the hard throwing lefthander Billy Del Toro to lead the way on the mound and boy did he deliver. Bellevue was held to only one run on four hits; Billy struck out five and only gave up three walks through 6 innings. Redmond would put the defensive leather to work in this game as well. In the top half of the second inning Bellevue′s second batter hit a shot into the right center gap, a for sure double or even a triple, however Redmond′s Right fielder, Jacob Bechtel, would answer with his hustle and a great throw to second. Bellevue′s batter was now caught in a rundown between second and third with one throw later he was out. Redmond′s bats would come alive in the bottom half of the second inning. Zack Abbruzza singled to lead off the inning. Chris George hit a ball in the hole at short and Bellevue′s second baseman would not be able to handle the throw from the shortstop. Billy Del Toro was now at the plate with runners on second and third. After a passed ball, Billy would hit an RBI single in Redmond′s first run of the game. Andrew Donaldson would keep the rally going with a walk. With the bases loaded, Michael Hill would deliver with a shot into the right center gap for a double and two RBI. Drew Dow would reach base on an infield single to load the bases again. Erik Heeter then worked his at bat into a RBI walk. The next batter would strike out swinging. With two outs Redmond was not done. Zack Abbruzza would deliver his second hit of the day with a two RBI single. Redmond was now leading 6 to 0 going into the top of the third. Defense and solid pitching would continue for Redmond as they played through the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Redmond would add to their lead in the third inning when Andrew Donaldson reached base on a fielder′s choice, Jordon Wiley worked his way on base with a walk and Michael Hill delivered his third hit of the day. Bases now loaded and only one out Drew Dow at the plate hit a RBI ground ball to third to score Jacob Bechtel who was running for Andrew Donaldson. Redmond continued on their scoring ways in the fourth inning when Jacob Bechtel hammered a double to left and scored on an error by Bellevue′s third baseman on a ground ball hit by Abbruzza. Abbruzza would score later in the inning after steeling second advancing to third and taking home on wild pitches.
