T-BALL, A, AA PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Little league ages 4-8 are welcome to play T-ball, A, or AA.
T-ball: Players hit off tee and bat through batting order. No score is kept. If runner is out they return to bench. 1-2 events per week.
A Sluggers: Coach pitch, everyone bats each inning. 8 pitches to put ball into play. After 8 pitches and not in play, the player hits off of tee. If runner/batter is out they return to dugout/bench. 1-2 events per week
AA Sluggers: Coach pitch. Inning at bat ends after 3 outs. Player has 8 pitches to put ball into play (3 swings and player is out). If not in play after 8 pitches and did not strike out, the player is out. Towards end of season, coaches may introduce kid pitching into the games. 2-3 events per week.
Players are assigned to a team by the VP of Instructional Baseball (IB)
Buddy and special requests are considered as well as school affiliation.
Registration closes in February & teams are formed in early March.
Players will be contacted by their coach once teams are formed.
Practices & Games
Practices begin in early April
Practice days and times are TBD by coach.
Practice schedules may vary from week to week depending on field availability, daylight, etc.
Plan to practice rain or shine.
Practices will be held at local school locations and TBD by coach. (We try and keep the players on teams with their schoolmates).
Games typically begin after Spring Break (late March, early April)
There are approximately 12-13 games, some fall on weekdays and some on Saturdays.
Games for T-ball are usually 1 hour in length
Games for A and AA Sluggers are 1- 1 1/2 hours in length.
The season ends in early June.
We highly encourage parents and guardians to get to know other families on the team and setup carpools to help out those who are busy working or shuffling other kids around to other events.
What your player needs before 1st practice
Required: Baseball glove, cup (for all boys), helmet and water bottle
Optional: Cleats, baseball pants, bat (check rules), bat bag
Provided by league: Team bats, balls, tees, bases, uniforms (Team hat, jersey). Uniforms will be provided prior to 1st game.

Fun, sportsmanship & teamwork, and development of baseball skills
Everyone must show respect for players, coaches, and parents
Attendance & Punctuality to practices and games
Coaches are fair to all players so that everyone gets the same play time and field positions
Coaches encourage players to keep trying and coach positively
Parents/Guardians are expected to help out if their child is behaving inappropriately on the field/bench
Safety is a top priority!
Parents are expected to volunteer in some capacity. There are many opportunities such as Coach, Assistant coach, Team Mom, etc. These will be listed and suggested by the VP of IB or your child’s Coach.
T-Ball & Sluggers Basic Playing Rules
Playing Rules: The intent of Sluggers and T-Ball is to teach the game of baseball. Rules will be outlined by the Coach per RNLL local rules and Green book rules.
Standings: There shall be no score keeping and no league standings.
Official Games: A game consists of 4 innings and is official after 3 innings. Managers may contact the League Scheduler to reschedule a canceled or incomplete game.
Umpires: Not required in Instructional ball. Parent base coaches will be used.
